​

Born and raised in the Swiss Alpine lakes and forests, Louis has been defined by wood and water.

From mountain to sea; Louis has years of living and working in the marine industry, experiencing the many inspirations of the diverse waterways and woodland from the Mediterranean seas, Amazonia, Norfolk Broads to the red mahogany of the tropical rainforests or the majestic redwood forests of Canada to our native English oak.

Carpenter, Joiner and qualified Boatbuilder, Louis is as skilful with a chisel as he is with a CNC machine. He has a wealth of knowledge, rich culture, good humour and experience that inspire his designs working with ethically sourced eco-friendly materials in his carpentry and joinery.

Now living in the heart of the South Hams in Devon; where countryside meets river and sea.  The ever ebb and flow of the tide reflect Louis’ fresh inspiration in his designs and craftmanship.

"Bodmer Joinery designed and installed a shaker-style bespoke fitted-wardrobe in the master-bedroom suite of my home. Louis recommended internal soft-close drawers and soft-close doors for the units as well as beautiful design details, such as leaving the internal shelves unpainted to show off the grain of the wood when the doors are opened.

 

The available internal space has been maximised increasing the storage capacity within the room. Louis' attention to detail across the project elevated my initial brief to a dream closet and I'm delighted with the end result."
